I am a Volunteer producer and host for a show on the Methuen Community Television Network. I am working on a show that will provide information about the process with in the Family and Probate Courts in Massachusetts. Since this is a local production I would like to use the Salem and Lawrence Family courts to do this production.
As the producer I am seeking your written permission to interview any member of your staff along with the staff at Salem and Lawrence Family and Probate courts about process and what paper work a pro-se litigant needs to get a case started in the Family and Probate courts.
The focus of the film would be to examine the process step by step. How one goes about filing a motion, modification or divorce. What happens once the paper work is filed (what does the court do once the paperwork is filed - a behind the scenes look). What happens in court and after a litigant is done and the judge has taken the case under advisement. Show the options a litigant has once the decision is in such as motion for reconsideration, appeal and what is needed to begin the appeal process (appeals process is planned for another show).
We are looking to produce a 30 minute segment and would like to begin on or before November 10th 2009. Should you have any questions please free to call me or e-mail me. I am sure that this show will be mutually beneficial to litigants and the court as an educational resource saving the court time in explaining details to litigants. I look forward to your co-operation in the production of this educational program and the future programs to come from this series of educational programs we are looking to produce.
